IUI Treatment Roadmap

This roadmap is designed for all patients at Angel Fertility Clinic—whether residing locally in Kathmandu, traveling from other districts within Nepal, or visiting from abroad.

1. Foundation: Pre-Cycle Workup

Ovarian Reserve	AMH & Day 2 FSH, LH, E2, Progesterone	Helps determine medication dosage.
Uterine Health	Pelvic/Transvaginal Ultrasound	Rules out polyps/fibroids.
Sperm Quality	Semen Analysis	Ensures sufficient motile sperm count.
Safety	Serology (Both)	Standard infectious disease screening.

2. IUI Treatment & Medication Timeline

Cycle Day	Stage	Medication & Action
Day 2 or 3	Baseline	Ultrasound. Start Letrozole/Clomid.
Day 8 - 11	Monitoring	1-2 Follicle Scans, arrive in the clinic.
Day 12 / 13	The Trigger	HCG Injection (Critical timing).
Day 14 / 15	The IUI	Insemination Procedure (At Clinic).
Day 16 - 28	Support	Vaginal Progesterone & Folic Acid.
Day 29 / 30	Confirmation	Urine Pregnancy test or Beta HCG Blood Test.

3. Important Guidelines: Dos and Don’ts

The Dos

Stay Hydrated: Drink 2–3 liters of water daily.
Prenatal Care: Take Folic Acid and supplements as prescribed.
Light Activity: Walking is encouraged to support circulation.
Communication: Send local scan reports via Viber/WhatsApp promptly.

The Don’ts

Avoid Extreme Heat: No saunas or hot tubs after the IUI.
No High-Impact Exercise: Avoid heavy lifting or intense cardio.
Lifestyle: Strictly no smoking or alcohol for both partners.
Medication: Don't take NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen) without consulting us.

4. Logistics for Traveling Patients

For patients traveling from outside the Kathmandu Valley:

Remote Monitoring: Day 8 scans can be done in your home district.
Stay Duration: Plan for 2–4 days in Kathmandu around ovulation.
Return Travel: Safe to travel home 2–4 hours after the procedure.
